Using the same tracker technology as our popular Leda Compact, we can supply the exclusive Diplomat Statesman Illuminated Taxi Sign to fit any Hackney or Taxi Cab.

Looking like a standard Illuminated Taxi Sign, a built-in tracking device sends back location and light ON/OFF information back to Navigator Booking and Despatch or PlanetPin.

With a one-touch rear panel pushbutton or convenient floor mounted footswitch for light ON/OFF control, the Statesman Illuminated Window Sign also features an output for immobilisation control.

Rear Panel Input And Output:

Two standard 1/4″ jack sockets allow the Statesman Sign to connect to a footswitch for convenient light control and discrete Panic (SOS) event reporting along with an Immobiliser Relay for remote control of the vehicle.

Light Control and SOS Input

One socket is defined as an input for Light Control and SOS or Panic. Connecting this input to the optional footswitch allows for toggling the light on and off by brief presses of the switch, whereas a long press for three seconds or more will be interpreted as a driver ‘Panic’ situation and the SOS message will be immediately sent along with the current location of the vehicle.

The state of the sign illumination is continuously monitored and whenever it is turned on or off the event is recorded and notified via GSM/GPRS.

Immobiliser Output

Another socket is defined as an output for Vehicle Immobilisation to energise a relay to immobilise the vehicle. By sending the Statesman Sign a special SMS text, the relay can be opened or closed remotely.

Optional extras:

Immobiliser kit

Enables you to immobilise a vehicle with a simple SMS message. Connects directly to a 1/4″ jack socket on the rear panel of the Statesman Sign. Easily configured to default to an immobilised state if the Statesman Sign is removed from the vehicle.

 

The relay is commonly fitted to interrupt the electrical supply to the fuel pump of the vehicle resulting in a ‘graceful’ immobilisation resembling what appears to happen when the vehicle runs out of fuel.

 

Panic switches

Choice of finger operated Pushbutton or a floor-mounted Footswitch. Plugs directly into a rear panel 1/4″ jack socket on the Statesman Sign. 

 Will alert you of a panic instantly by SMS

 

 

You also have the option to subscribe to the PlanetPin Online Tracking Portal. Watch vehicles moving in real-time, report, replay journeys, check speeds, create geo fences etc.

A simple drop-down menu of commands allows for immobilisation and remobilisation of a vehicle from a single mouse-click. Alerts generated by SOS events from a driver or ignition on events outside of working hours are instantly displayed on-screen and notified by SMS if required.

 

The Statesman Sign is fully compatible with Diplomat Navigator Booking and Dispatch software.
